University of Presov UNIPOCENTRUM was solemnly opened by the rector of the University of Presov on November 15th, 2000. It was created with the support of EU - TEMPUS Phare programme. The aim of the centre is to offer complex information-counselling services for students of the University of Presov and for public. It is the one and only university centre of its kind in the Slovak Republic.

Services

1. Information services: UNIPOCENTRUM of the University of Presov is information point within University of Presov and it tries to provide as much information as possible to University of Presov students, international students and to public. Do not hesitate to visit us, or ask anything you do not know or are interested in by phone or e-mail. If we are not capable of providing you with the information immediately, we will guide you to particular responsible authorities, or inform you as soon as possible personally, by phone or e-mail. UNIPOCENTRUM information services include Infoportal – online database of students' offers, where various offers are regularly published (www.univerzitne.info).

Information services of the UNIPOCENTRUM include preparation and organisation of information meetings and seminars. These include presentations of many organisations which offer job opportunities or grant study programs at universities abroad as well as thematic seminars dealing with career development and entering a new job.

First contact point is a service helping 1st grade University of Presov students to become familiar with university environment on their first days at the university.

2. Counselling services: UNIPOCENTRUM offers counselling in:
• Psychology (including anti-drug consultancy)
• Finance
• Legal counselling
• Spiritual counselling (Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox Church)
• Academic counselling
• Career development

In order to provide professional counselling, University of Presov UNIPOCENTRUM cooperates with specialists in given fields who provide these counselling services personally on appointment, directly in the UNIPOCENTRUM or in other locations. Legal, psychological and finance counselling is to be appointed in advance. Counselling takes place behind closed door and for students is for free.

3. Information-technology (IT) services: University of Presov UNIPOCENTRUM provides students with PC workstations with Windows XP operation systems, MS Office 2007 and OpenOffice 2.2. Computers are connected to the Internet with restricted access to some services (see regulations on using PC on UNIPOCENTRUM webpage). University of Presov UNIPOCENTRUM offers printing services up to A3 size (in colour), data storage on all ordinary media, black and white document scanning and its e-mail sending, plastic binding, thermo binding, cartridge binding, lamination, cutting and fax sending services.

4. Other activities: University of Presov UNIPOCENTRUM participates on propagation of the University of Presov by preparation of propagation materials. It takes part in educational exhibitions and fairs and manages university e-shop with publications published by the University of Presov pedagogues. In UNIPOCENTRUM, there is a possibility to buy propagation materials and souvenirs with the University of Presov logo. These can be bought also at the end of the study, directly on the graduation ceremony. Other activities provided by UNIPOCENTRUM include prolongation of ISIC/ITIC cards for students and pedagogues, and provides information regarding the usage of this cards.
