Science, Art, Sport and Accreditation
The Department of Science, Art, Sport and Accreditation methodically manages and coordinates the activities of individual faculties in the area of science, accreditation, artistic activity and sports activity, ensures the agenda related to the organization, coordination and financing of science, artistic activity and sports activity, processes overviews of research projects and grants for the university, prepares documents for governing university bodies. Manages the university accreditation process.
a) The Section for Science, Art and Sport is the workplace of the Vice-Rector for science, art and sport and for administrative and organizational work. Administratively and organizationally the section ensures the activities of the Scientific Board of the University of Presov. It also ensures the agenda for the preparation of documents related to science, habilitation and inauguration proceedings at the university for the Scientific Board of UP and the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic. It coordinates the agenda for awarding scientific-academic titles, honorary titles (Dr.h.c., professor emeritus) and medals. The section also processes analyzes of statistical reports in the field of science, artistic activity and sports activity, coordinates the activities of the university in the field of scientific and research projects within the framework of APVV, KEGA, VEGA challenges, provides consulting and advisory practice in the field of science for university teachers and students, participates in activities related to the preparation of festive events of the university.
b) The Section for Accreditation and Publishing provides the agenda for the preparation of documents for the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education, methodically manages and coordinates the activities of the agendas of the faculties in the area of accreditation, implements the allocation of ISBN numbers within the faculties, coordinates and manages the university editing and publishing activities, keeps records of publication activities, ensures publication of materials for accreditation and editorial activity on university websites, participates in activities related to scientific research, artistic and sports activity.
c) The Section for International Research Projects ensures the agenda associated with the Seventh Framework Program for Research and Technical Development and Horizon Europe, coordination, information transfer and communication with faculties, university workplaces, foreign partners and cooperation with the European Commission. The section also shelters the organizational security and activities of the Centre for the Commercialization of Research Outputs and Intellectual Property Management of the University of Presov.
