More Than 70 Meetings Open New Opportunities for International Cooperation

Representatives of the University of Prešov took part in the 35th Annual EAIE Conference and Exhibition, Europe’s largest international higher education event, where they held more than 70 pre-arranged meetings with partners from Europe, Asia, North and South America. The discussions focused on strengthening existing partnerships, expanding the university’s international network, and identifying new opportunities in education, research, and internationalisation.

Among the key meetings were discussions with renowned institutions such as the University of Stirling, Cardiff University, and York St John University in the United Kingdom, Università di Trento in Italy, Mary Immaculate College and the University of Limerick in Ireland, as well as Universidad Loyola in Spain. The University of Prešov also engaged with partners beyond Europe, including Konkuk University in South Korea, Universidade Finis Terrae in Chile, Anáhuac University in Mexico, and institutions from Brazil, South Africa, Japan, the Philippines, and Türkiye.

A significant part of the discussions focused on enhancing student and staff mobility, developing new bilateral agreements, and expanding opportunities for international academic collaboration. Particular attention was given to the implementation of the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) model, which enables students and academics from different countries to work together in virtual learning environments. Additional topics included the development of Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs), short-term international learning opportunities, and the creation of joint academic programmes.

Special emphasis was placed on cooperation in the fields of health sciences, environmental studies, and interdisciplinary research. Participation in EAIE 2026 once again confirmed the University of Prešov’s active role within the international higher education community and created a strong foundation for future partnerships that will bring new opportunities to students, researchers, and academic staff alike.
