PROMOTING YOUNG RESEARCHERS – EURAXESS STUDY VISIT AT ETH ZURICH

ETH Zurich hosted a group study visit for the Euraxess project from February 16th  to 18th, 2026. This federal institution is one of the world's top research universities and plays a significant role in global education, with a large number of international students. Its research focuses on new technologies, engineering, and natural sciences. Its alumni include dozens of Nobel Prize winners, including Albert Einstein.

During the visit, together with coordinators from Euraxess and support centers in the Czech Republic, France, Lithuania, and Switzerland, we had the opportunity to learn about various grant schemes that the host university offers to its students and researchers. The program included examples of good practice in the form of presentations of the services and activities of individual centers, as well as a tour of the key infrastructure of the host institution. We were introduced to the staff of the grant departments and Euraxess support services, who shared valuable advice with us on the creation of grant schemes and services for our target groups. During the presentations, we discussed improvements in the areas of lifelong learning, mental health, work-life balance, and career support for doctoral students and researchers. The entire event was accompanied by various networking activities that provided opportunities for new partnerships and synergies to emerge.

The event was supported by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic.
