Department of Biology

The Department of Biology is a pedagogical and scientific research workplace of the Faculty of Humanities and Natural Sciences of the University of Prešov. The scientific-research focus of the Department is on the study of majority and minority (Roma) populations from the anthropological, ecological, genetic and health point of view, population-genetic studies and identification of molecular mechanisms of the etiology of selected clinical-genetic diseases and transfer of scientific knowledge into clinical practice. The above research activities are thematically followed by final bachelor and master theses. The expertise base represents the potential for creating various forms of education that allow flexible response to the requirements of practice.
