The University of Prešov in Prešov uses an e-learning system to support the teaching of online education in the Moodle environment . It is available at https://elearning.unipo.sk/ and contains basic information, courses and manuals.

E-learning is a teaching process that uses information technology, including a network environment. It has 2 main goals, the first is the development of distance education and the second goal is the support of the regular form of teaching.

Distance education is a form of independent study. The role of the teacher in the distance form of education is to check the completion of the required tasks, evaluate the students' independent work, announce the results, answer questions, conduct consultations, etc. In distance education, there are no lectures, only study materials are used, such as texts, presentations and other teaching aids intended for self-study.

The usual form of teaching consists in the use of tools for education independently, but also in collaboration with faculty support for pedagogical goals. For example, help with converting study materials into a suitable format, creating a set of test questions, setting up subject catalogs so that teachers can moderate a discussion forum, answer questions, correct homework, etc.

The electronic e-learning system in the Moodle environment is available to all students, teachers and employees of the University of Prešov to improve the quality of teaching.
