Rules for phone calls between university facilities

The development project of IP telephony with the financial contribution of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic was implemented by the Computing Technology Center of PU. This project makes it possible to communicate by voice between selected objects of the university free of charge, while it is no longer necessary to use the paid network of T-Com (formerly Slovak Telecom) and other operators.
The connection is made via the university's private optical computer network, and the telephone switchboard of the PU Rectorate (in the building at Ul. 17 novembra 15) is currently in operation with the telephone switchboards in the VŠA building at Ul. 17 November 1 and in the building at Ul. Partizánská 1 and this system is also connected to several autonomous IP phones in other university facilities(at GTF PU, PBF PU, FM PU, FŠ PU, CVT PU, ŠDJ PU - 3 buildings, GKS PU, PKS PU and Sports hall PU). Currently, the second stage of this project has already been implemented, as part of which the number of IP phones and connected objects of the university was expanded.
The overall diagram of the telephone connection of university facilities, including connection prefixes, is given at the end of the document. With the help of this scheme, it is possible to use free calls between university facilities. However, it is necessary to point out that within the telephone system of the university, generationally different systems with different communication throughput are combined, so the success of the connection directly depends on the currently free channels on the route. If one connection consists of several routes, the connection is successful only if there are free channels on the entire route.

Basic call procedure for facilities with connected switchboards
(VŠA, R PU, FZO PU facilities - call option from any telephone set)

Calls from the PU Rectorate building:
From any phone in the PU Rectorate building (Ul. 17. novembra 15) it is necessary to first dial the area code 66 , and dial the number of the called extension from another building of the university (applies to the VŠA building and the building on Partizánská ul.). If you hear a busy tone, you need to wait and call later.

Calls to the PU Rectorate building:
From the telephones in the VŠA building and from the building on Partizánská ul. it is possible to call the R PU object free of charge using the prefix 99 and then dialphone number at the PU Rectorate . For this purpose, it is necessary to select the last three digits from the internal R PU flap in the building on Ul. November 17, 15. From the other switchboards, it is first necessary to get to the digital switchboard at VŠA via the relevant prefix and then continue according to the mentioned procedure.

Calls between the VŠA building on ul. 17. novembra 1 and the building at ul. Partizánská 1 (FZO PU):
The switchboards of these objects are of the same type and are connected to one virtual switchboard through IP telephony technology. Therefore, it is possible to call between the digital switchboards of these objects by directly dialing the phone as if it were a single switchboard. This is currently possible with the following damper ranges:

100 - 399 (new central office at VŠA - workplaces FF PU, FHPV PU, FM PU, UK PU, CVT PU, R PU - operational department)
400 - 499 (ul. Partizánska - FZ PU and workplaces UK PU, CVT PU, PBF PU)
600 – 799 (new switchboard in VŠA - FHPV PU workplaces)
800 – 899 (new switchboard in VŠA - FF PU workplaces)

Basic call procedure for facilities with autonomous IP telephones

In PU facilities where switchboards are not connected, free calls are implemented through autonomous (individual) IP phones. These telephones are identified as digital telephone switchboards in VŠA and the same rules (prefixes) apply for calling them as for any other switchboard in the VŠA building and on Partizánská ul. The flaps of individual IP phones are listed in the table

405 (direct selection of the extension)

Calls to mobile networks for objects with connected switchboards
(VŠA, R PU, FZO PU objects)

The introduction of IP telephony technology also made it possible to route all calls to mobile networks to common GSM gateways that are installed in the University of Applied Sciences building. It means a significant saving in fees, but it is necessary to expect a certain delay in ringing the called mobile number - the mobile phone starts ringing only after the third ringing tone (which the caller hears) and therefore it is necessary to ring longer. When calling, the caller is then identified (CLIP service) by the GSM gateway numbers at VŠA - 0905 77 33 91, 0905 77 33 53 or 0915 98 06 86. These mobile numbers cannot be called back! (even if the caller hears the ring tone). Likewise, no SMS / MMS messages will be delivered to these mobile numbers.
