IP camera system

IP camera system

The IP camera system at the University of Prešov is part of the university's wider Identification Information System.

The system consists of cameras directly connected to the LAN network via the TCP/IP protocol, the so-called IP cameras. These allow remote users to view, record and analyze the image from another location, or from several locations, via a local computer network or the Internet.

The pilot implementation of this system began in August 2006, and the main goal of the project is the protection of university buildings and workplaces, as well as the monitoring of IT systems. It is planned to gradually expand the already established camera system. The cameras are in operation 24 hours a day and a special recording is made and archived from each camera.
