Basic functions

The original identity management system (IDM), through which you entered your name and password when logging in to MAIS, the eduroam WiFi network and the Internet at ŠD, has been replaced by a new one. From September 15, 2021 , access is only possible via the new access data you received by email.

Microsoft 365 - login with a new password
To log in to Microsoft 365, you use the same password as for the IDM portal and connected systems (MAIS, WiFi network eduroam, internet on ŠD). Users who have a problem with accepting the password to Microsoft 365 (email / Teams) are advised to change the password again through the IDM portal (the same password can be entered).

Microsoft 365 - about znam for students
You can find information about creating your university email after logging in to MAIS and clicking on Profile . The format of the email is usually meno.priezvisko@smail.unipo.sk. An email box will be created for 1st year students at the beginning of September. If the email address "@smail.unipo.sk" is not yet listed there, the mailbox has not yet been created. The password for the e-mail box is the same as for MAIS.
The account is valid for the duration of the study period. After graduation, the account will be canceled.

IDM portal - portal for user account management

The IDM portal is used for simplified and effective identity management of all defined information systems (changing or restoring a forgotten password to all systems that are integrated into IDM (Identity Management).

The main change is the management of user passwords through a centralized service, including the so-called self-service password management. The user will no longer change the password in individual information systems , but will change the password from any computer connected to the Internet through this user portal. Login data will be the same for IDM and all connected information systems.

Currently, the IDM portal is connected to the MAIS system, Microsoft 365, access to the eduroam WiFi network, and access to the Internet at ŠD.

How to log in to the IDM portal


Access to the IDM user portal - open

  • Username - all students and staff have a username created.
    Students - Initial access to the IDM portal and connected systems (MAIS, WiFi eduroam, ŠD network and Microsoft 365) is allowed for all 1st year PU students only after delivery of login data to a private email contact (from the application) with the message subject: "IDM portal - information about login data to MAIS, WiFi eduroam, the ŠD network and Microsoft 365". Data delivery takes place from mid-June, it is also necessary to monitor the Spam folder.

    If you have already studied at PU in the past and are entering the 1st year again, the IDM system will restore your original login data, but will no longer send the information emailStudents who registered before September 15, 2021 will request a new password from the IDM system administrator. Students who signed in after 15/9/2021 use the same password as when they last signed in.

  • Employees - request login data from the IDM system administrator no earlier than the first day of a valid employment relationship. You can find the contact here - open

  • Password - the user will receive the password generated by the system by email. After 3 unsuccessful attempts, access to the IDM portal and to all integrated systems (currently MAIS, Microsoft 365, eduroam WiFi network, internet on ŠD) will be blocked for a certain time.

How to change your password

After successfully logging into the IDM portal, click on the left menu " Passwords ". Then enter the old password, the new password twice and click the Save button .

The password must meet the requirements for creating a password:

  • Password is case sensitive.
  • The number of characters must be at least 8.
  • It must contain at least the following numbers: 1.
  • It must contain at least the following number of lowercase letters: 1.
  • It must contain at least the following number of capital letters: 1.
  • It must not contain parts of your name and username.
  • It must not contain a common word or a commonly used sequence of characters.
  • The new password could not have been used in the past.

In case of problems with login, it is necessary to contact the IDM administrator by email at sprava-idm@unipo.sk . In the text of the email message, always include: first name, last name, faculty, information on whether you are a student or an employee and your username for the IDM portal (the same as the login name used in the MAIS system or for accessing the eduroam WiFi network).


How to recover a forgotten password

The main advantage of the IDM portal is the possibility of recovering a forgotten password by the user himself directly from the initial screen.

On the login website https://idm.unipo.sk/ , click on Forgotten password, fill in the required fields - username (login) and email address registered in your profile and click on the Reset password button. The IDM system will send information to the entered email address, with which the user can set a new password.
