Gabriel Székely completed his Master studies in political science in 2011 at the Faculty of Arts, University of Prešov. In 2013 – 2017, he was a PhD internal student at the Institute of Political Science in Prešov. From 2019 he figures as an assistant professor at the Institute of Political Science. In his pedagogical practice, he teaches subjects related to electoral systems, political systems and regimes, comparative politics, theory and history of diplomacy. In addition, his academic research focuses on the holocaust, non-democratic regimes, electoral systems, and public administration. Occasionally, as a political analyst, he presents his opinions in daily papers and media, mainly RTVS.
