doc. Mgr. Ondrej Marchevský, PhD.

He defended his habilitation thesis (2019) in research program history of philosophy in his alma mater. His habilitation thesis was untitled Philosophical legacy of Immanuel Kant on Russian way pro et contra.

Currently, he works as a Associate Professor at the Institute of Philosophy and Ethics, Faculty of Arts, the University of Prešov in Prešov. He teaches following courses: History of Russian Philosophy od 19. and 20 century, Problems of Russian Philosophy, Introduction to Philosophy, History of Philosophy (19. century), Philosophy of Postmodernism, The introduction to Logic, Ethical problems in the history of Philosophy, Symbol as a problem of Russian Philosophical Thought, Russian radicalism of 19. and 20. century.

The subject of his research interest is the history of Russian philosophy in the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century and also russian reflexions of I. Kant legacy. Central attention is paid to the phenomenon of Russian Narodism and its reflection in the philosophical thoughts. He has participated at several, semester-long, research and study stays abroad: Jagelonian Uniwersyty (Cracow, Poland) and Russian Friendship University (Moscow, Russia). He was visiting professor at University of Silesia (Katowice, Poland).

He actively participates at numerous domestic and foreign scientific forums: Paris (France), Beijing (China), Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhnij Novgorod, Samara (Russia), Cracow, Lublin (Poland), Lviv, Uzhorod (Ukraine), Evanston (USA), Rome (Italy), Paris (France).

He is a member of Slovak philosophical association (Slovak Academy od Sciences), International Centre for Studying Russian Philosophy (Russia) and editorial boerd of few philosophical journals (Ruch filozoficzny, Филососфское Образование, ΣΟΦΙΑ).
