prof. PhDr. Vasil Gluchman, CSc.

Professor for study programme 2.1.5 ethics, UNESCO Chair in Bioethics at the University of Prešov (Slovakia)

He was editor of Bioethics in Central Europe (2009) and currently he is Chief-Editor of Ethics & Bioethics (in Central Europe). He published the books Etika na Slovensku– minulosť a prítomnosť [Ethics in Slovakia – past and present] (2008), Etika a reflexie morálky [Ethics and Reflection of Morality] (2008), Human Being and Morality in Ethics of Social Consequences (2003), SlovakLutheran Social Ethics (1997), Etika sociálnych dôsledkov v kontexte jej kritiky [Ethics of Social Consequences in Context of its Critique] (1999), Človek a morálka [Man and Morality] (1997), Etika sociálnych dôsledkov a jej kontexty [Ethics of Social Consequences and its Contexts] (1996), Etika konzekvencializmu [Consequentialist Ethics] (1995) and many other textbooks and articles on bioethics, consequentialist ethics, history of ethics in Slovakia, and applied ethics. He is also editor of Morality of the Past from the Present Perspective (2007), three volumes of Etika [Ethics] (2010) and many other books of essays. He recently published articles included in the Web of Science database: Martin Rázus: Literary and Philosophical Reflections on Morality in Journal of Religious Ethics (2011, vol. 39, No. 1, pp. 152-172),On the Human Body in Igor Kišš’s Humanized Deontology in Christian Bioethics (2012, vol. 18, No. 3, pp. 312-324) and Pious Aspects in the Ethical and Moral Views of Matthias Bel in History of European Ideas (2013 (forthcoming)).
