The lecture aims to be dedicated to rethinking of light as a medium of feeling and experiencing a space. Presented thoughts come from the long-term lightning design experience and various artistic projects created with students of architecture, design, and fine art within Faculty of Arts in Košice. Dominantly, the lecturers will explore their lightning strategies and show off the variety of their realized projects. In addition, the present audience will have a chance to see a playful experiment with lights. The lecture is suitable for the whole range of students, colleagues and friends who are interested in aesthetics, art, architecture, design and visuality of public spaces. Stay tuned with us.

Lecturers:
Laura Murguía Sánchez, is a Mexican architect. In 2002, she received her PhD degree in Energy and Environment in Architecture at the Universitat Politècnica of Catalunya, Barcelona. There, she also acquired experience as a lighting designer. Since 2010 lives and works in Slovakia. She worked for 11 years as a researcher and lecturer in the subject Light design at the Technical University in Košice.

Lenka Balážová, is a lighting designer and technician based in Slovak Republic. In 2001, she received her master’s degree in Fine Arts at University of Prešov, Slovakia. Since 2007 she specializes on lighting design and lighting – technical solutions involving in creative and challenging tasks in the field. She is a member of Slovak Lighting Engineering Association.

Together they created platform Light Lab, which has been dedicated to various assignments and questions of lighting design and lighting culture. They like collaboration with other creative bodies.
