Learning activities - Focus on using digital tools
JULY 6-8, 2023
At the beginning of July 2023, a workshop on using dogital tool at secondary schools was held in Omiš in Croatia. It was the seconds on-site meeting of the partners of the project Development through autonomy, self-responsibility and self-care: ePortfolios as a life-long-learning approach from secondary school to university (2021-1-SK01-KA220-SCH-000024680), which is implemented thanks to the Erasmus+ scheme (school education).
The lecturers from Secondary school in Omiš, presented the participants from the German Max-Beckmann Gymnasium in Fankfurt am Main, the Slovak Grammar school in Žilina, the German Justus Liebig University in Giessen and the University of Prešov their experience with using different digital tools in teaching. They not only covered the technical aspects of various digital tools but also delved into the methodological aspects of their use. The practical demonstration of actual samples created by Croatian teachers, along with students showcasing tool utilization and their projects, served as significant motivation for the participants. A significant aspect of the learning activity was the engaging discussions between the participants and the school management, teachers, and students. This provided a valuable platform for comparing perspectives among all attendees.
Equally important were the debates concerning the activities implemented at the partner institutions involved in the project Development through autonomy, self-responsibility and self-care: ePortfolios as a life-long-learning approach from secondary school to university (2021-1-SK01-KA220-SCH-000024680).
An integral part of the Erasmus+ project is the exploration of different cultures within the participating countries. The training organizers arranged cultural events and presentations detailing the place's history and traditions for the partners. Certificates of attendance were bestowed upon the participants during a splendid event at the location (see pictures below|.
The workshop participants have been employing various tools in their teaching practices. In the upcoming period, universities will be focusing extensively on developing a Moodle course centered around the utilization of digital tools in teaching. This course aims to cater not only to aspiring teachers but also to in-service teachers, making it accessible to a broader audience.
