Learning activities - Focus on e-portfolio
JULY 6-9, 2022
At the beginning of July 2022, a workshop on the use of the e-portfolio MAHARA in education was held in Frankfurt am Main. It was the first on-site meeting of the partners of the project Development through autonomy, self-responsibility and self-care: ePortfolios as a life-long-learning approach from secondary school to university (2021-1-SK01-KA220-SCH-000024680), which is implemented thanks to the Erasmus+ scheme (school education).
The lecturer Antje Koennen guided teachers from the Croatian Secondary school in Omiš, the German Max-Beckmann Gymnasium in Fankfurt am Main, the Slovak Grammar school in Žilina, the German Justus Liebig University in Giessen and the University of Prešov not only through the technical possibilities of the Mahara system, but also the methodological aspects of its use. The practical presentation of real samples created by German (Antje's) students was an important motivation for the participants.
An important part of the learning activity were also direct observations in practice (in Frankfurt the summer holidays 2022/23 start on 25 July), but also the discussion of the participants with the school management, teachers and students, which provided a space for comparing the perspectives of all participants.
Also of undoubted importance were the debates on the activities implemented at the partner institutions involved in the project Development through autonomy, self-responsibility and self-care: ePortfolios as a life-long-learning approach from secondary school to university (2021-1-SK01-KA220-SCH-000024680).
An integral part of the Erasmus+ project is also learning about the cultures of the countries. The organisers of the training planned the first "date with Frankfurt" already on 6 July 2022, and day by day the number of encounters with the history and culture not only of Frankfurt and Germany had been growing.
The workshop participants will use e-portfolios from the next academic year onwards in order to build students' autonomy and promote their competencies in the effective use of digital technologies.
