Michal Cirner works in the Institute of Political Science in the position of assistant professor and secretary of the Institute. He graduated in political science (Faculty of Arts, the University of Prešov in Prešov) and public policy and public administration (Faculty of Public Administration, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice). He obtained PhD. in the field of theory of politics in his alma mater in Prešov. In scientific research activities, he deals with issues of public policy and public administration. Also, he deals with the political and party system in the Slovak Republic. In pedagogical practise he teaches subjects related to public administration, municipal policy or cross-border cooperation, also he teaches subject Political system of Slovak Republic. He publishes commentaries in the influential Slovak daily papers SME and Denník N. As political analyst presents his views in the media, particularly in public RTVS.
