Professor Fred E. Woods received his PhD in Middle East Studies: Hebrew Bible from the University of Utah in 1991. He has been a BYU professor in the College of Religious Education since 1998. Dr. Woods is a prolific author and his latest published work on Latter-day Saint immigration to America, Ports to Posts, will be released March 1, 2025 by the University of Nebraska Press. The past two decades he has also produced numerous documentaries detailing LDS history in various parts of the world. Professor Woods is also a bridge builder and strives to find common ground among various peoples and cultures globally to produce morecooperative communities whose interest is in the general benefit of mankind.
