On 24 September 2024, the opening ceremony of the academic year 2024/2025 of the University of Prešov took place at the Jonáš Záborský Theatre in Prešov. On this occasion, the Department of Finance, Accounting and Mathematical Methods was awarded the Rector's Award for the best departmental website in 2023. The award was received by the head of the Department of Finance, Accounting and Mathematical Methods, doc. Ing. Sylvia Jenčová, PhD.

At the same time, the Rector's Award was awarded to:

• doc. Ing. Jarmila Horváthová, PhD.
• external PhD student Ing. Bc. Stanislav Letkovský.
