Education

In academic year 2023/24 the division does not provide any study program. Members of the division are lecturers of selected subjects at other Departments of the Faculty. Regional committees of Mathematical Olympiad and Olympiad in Informatics have their seats at the division and are headed by the members of the division.

Research

The research activity of the department is focused mainly on the following areas: Global Analysis and Differential Geometry (global variational geometry, variational analysis on fibered manifolds, differential invariants, geometrical structure of principal fibered bundles and their generalization), and Probability and Mathematical Statistics (application of stochastic processes, application of statistical methods to the science of sports, biological, environmental and pedagogic sciences). The department houses the international research association Lepage Research Institute whose members are mathematicians from universities in Algeria, Czech Republic, China, Estonia, India, Japan, Poland, Romania, Russia, Italy, Ukraine and USA. Members of the Institute meet regularly at scientific events International Summer School on Global Analysis and Applications organized by the Lepage Research Institute and the Division of Mathematics. They cooperate mainly in research in the areas of variational geometry, differential geometry and global analysis, mathematical physics, geometric mechanics and regulation of mechanical systems.
