On January 24, 2023, on the occasion of the International Day of Education, the Department of Economics and Economy recalled the importance of education in building sustainable and resilient society, its importance in achieving all the goals of sustainable development, increasing the productivity of individuals and strengthening the economy's growth potential. The form of education is constantly changing as it is a fast-evolving area with great future potential. The beginning of new forms of education (e-learning, blended learning) dates back to the arrival of personal computers in households. At first, the electronic materials that were displayed on a computer screen were used mainly in teaching technical subjects. Application of new forms of education in the teaching of economic disciplines has a long tradition at the Department of Economics and Economy. The Department of Economics and Economy in cooperation with the Department of Technology and Information Systems at the Faculty of Management and Business operates a Virtual Learning Center, where it offers a wide range of e-learning courses on selected economic issues that are available via the internet, especially for students of economics.
