UNIPO strengthening international cooperation at the prestigious NAFSA 2026 conference

The University of Prešov is participating for the third time in the NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo in Orlando, Florida, USA, one of the most significant global events in the field of internationalisation of higher education.

For UNIPO, participation in the conference represents an opportunity to develop new partnerships, strengthen existing contacts, and create conditions for the mobility of students, academic staff, researchers, and administrative personnel. An important part of the working meetings is also exploring possibilities for the university to engage in already existing programmes, projects, and activities implemented by foreign institutions. Such cooperation can bring concrete opportunities not only for students, but also for faculties, research teams, and professional units of the university.

Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic, our university is once again able to actively represent its position in the global academic environment.

During these days, we have held meetings with representatives of several foreign universities and institutions, including the University of Connecticut, University of Hawaii, Idaho State University, California State University, The University of Texas at Austin, World Abroad Connect Corporation, University of Wisconsin, University of Pittsburgh, The Education University of Hong Kong, Istanbul Medipol University, Caucasus International University, Universidad Nacional de La Matanza, Universidade de São Paulo, Universidad Regional Amazónica, and Universidad Católica de Cuenca. Additional meetings with partners from the USA, Latin America, India, Japan, and Saudi Arabia are also planned.

UNIPO thereby confirms that it views internationalisation as an important pathway towards higher quality in education, research, and student support. Therefore, UNIPO’s presence at NAFSA 2026 is not merely representative, but part of the university’s long-term effort to actively engage in the international academic community.
