Membership of the Three Seas University Network (3SUN) is aimed at promoting the economic development of Central European countries through cooperation in education, research and innovation. The network includes 12 countries and aims to bring together science and business to address socio-economic challenges synergistically. The initiative also promotes partnerships and joint research programmes between universities, leading to enhanced growth and stability in the region.
Objectives
The initiative aims to strengthen international cooperation between universities, intensify exchanges and expand research, leading to prestigious publications, major projects and European grants. The objectives of the network include peer-to-peer cooperation in science, joint research, projects and development work, investment in improving the quality of education and research, implementation of innovative solutions in education, exchange of information on human resources and didactic base, sharing of achievements in science, culture and technology, collection and sharing of library and information collections, promotion of the commercialisation of research results, activities for the benefit of local and regional communities, and cooperation with the economy and business.
The Three Seas Initiative is forward-looking and education is a key pillar. The university sector of the 3SUN has great intellectual potential and aims to address the challenges of the future.
Consortium Q-Helix
The Q-Helix University project pioneers a collaborative ecosystem rooted in the Quintuple Helix model, connecting stakeholders around universities. Breaking away from traditional cooperation, it focuses on Comprehensive Ecosystem Security, Environmental Conservation, Smart City Development, and Healthcare Innovation. Lifelong Learners are guided through upskilling with micro-credentials, fostering innovation.
The Q-Helix Qualifications Framework offers flexibility, shaping personalized educational paths. R&I initiatives drive inclusive sustainable development through platforms for business modelling and hackathons. An incubator program supports social entrepreneurship, engaging mentors, investors, academics, and leaders. Rooted in inclusivity, diversity, and openness, Q-Helix aims to create a sustainable ecosystem driving positive global change.
