SUMMARY

The election of the bishop is a lifetime choice, and therefore the voluntary abandonment of the bishop's department, renouncing it outside of a canonical offense is a very unusual phenomenon in the Church. the 9th Rule of the Ephesian Council gives us the answer. the bishop with chirotony is designated as the bishop of a particular city and is also called. If he does not deserve more in the city, he loses his name. The title of the bishop also means his activity, and so the one who ceased to practice loses his name. Who once took responsibility for the bishop's service, has no right to interfere with the Church. Voluntary distance from the service practically does not exist, but at the same time can not be ruled out possible departure from the department associated with advanced age and related problems, such as serious illness.
