University of Prešov at the NAFSA 2025 International Fair in San Diego

Also in 2025, the University of Prešov is part of a delegation of 17 Slovak public universities participating in the prestigious international conference and fair of higher education, NAFSA 2025.

This year's event takes place from 27 to 30 May in San Diego, California. The Slovak exhibition booth under the brand "Study in Slovakia" is represented by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic. The Slovak delegation is led by the Minister of Education, Tomáš Drucker, and the State Secretary for Higher Education and Academic Research, Róbert Zsembera.

NAFSA represents the world's largest and most comprehensive event in the internationalisation of higher education. It is an important platform for forging new partnerships in education, research and academic mobility. For the University of Prešov, participation in the fair is an opportunity to strengthen international contacts, present its study programmes and actively participate in professional discussions on current challenges and trends in the globalised academic environment.

Within the framework of the fair, UNIPO representatives are conducting several meetings with representatives of foreign universities to establish new contacts with universities from the USA, Canada, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, South America, which have expressed interest in cooperation in the field of short-term exchange programs, joint research projects and international summer schools. Discussions were held with, for example, California State University, UC San Diego, University of Pittsburgh, Kyung Hee University or Tecnológico de Monterrey, and were mainly related to student exchanges, joint research projects and summer schools.

In addition, the University is also active in the exchange of experience in international marketing and student recruitment, which can contribute to increasing the visibility of the University of Prešov in the international environment.

The Ministry of Education, Research, Development, and Youth of the Slovak Republic financially supports the university's participation in this important event through the call from the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic—Support for Internationalisation in the Academic Environment.
