The Student Support Centre (SSC) is a university-wide workplace under the Department of Education and was established to help and support primarily applicants and students of all faculties and units of the University of Prešov. The Student Support Centre was created by combining counselling for students with specific needs, psychological counselling provided by the Institute of Psychology of the Faculty of Arts of the UP for students of the UP and ArtCentre. Later, career counselling, counselling on effective learning, and counselling for students from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds were added. The Student Support Centre is managed by the Vice-Rector for Education.

SSC provides

• counselling for students with specific needs,
• counselling for students from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds,
• psychological counselling,
• counselling focused on orientation in the university environment and effective learning
• career counselling,
• creative activities to promote mental well-being.

The activities of the SSC are supported by the project Support for Counselling and Improving the Mental Health of Students at the University of Prešov (NFP401402F642) from the programme Slovakia (401402 - 4P2 Quality and Inclusive Education).
