The foundation of the Department of the Urgent Health Care was prompted by the current social need for improving health care in emergency medicine and emergency rescue services as well as by the newly adopted Integrated Rescue System Act.
The study programme the Urgent Health Care focuses on the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in healthcare with specific focus on the events of threat to human life and health.
In addition to medical knowledge and skills, a graduate of the study programme of the Urgent Health Care will also acquire technical skills which are necessary for the profession of a paramedic in the individual components of the Integrated Rescue System.
Theoretical subjects are taught in the form of lectures, seminars and clinical exercises at selected clinical workplaces. The teaching of practical skills is specifically aimed at providing health care in medical facilities such as intensive care units.It is also aimed at providing pre-hospital emergency medical care in emergency rescue services, water and mountain rescue services.
