About faculty

The Faculty of Health Care, the University of Presov, continuously develops and widens the range of education in non-medical study programs based on the needs and demands of the labour market in the healthcare industry. It provides higher education in accredited study programs that are fully compatible with the requirements of the European Union for the recognition of diplomas. Its priority is to contribute to the development of education, science, culture, and health for the welfare of a society as a whole. It feels responsible for the advancement of scholarship in the spirit of national, humanitarian, Christian, democratic, and ethical traditions and values. The Faculty has also been active in research, in publishing academic textbooks and monographs. Its research activities correspond to the trends in the relevant study fields, including issues of health promotion, disease prevention, and quality of life. The Faculty closely cooperates with research institutions and universities – Faculty of Medicine, PJŠ University in Košice, and the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Technical University in Košice. The Faculty has rich international co-operation, which is evidenced by the implementation of international projects in the field of education in Tempus, Erasmus+, Leonardo da Vinci schemes. The Faculty has established contacts with several educational institutions providing training in non-medical healthcare professions and has developed cooperation with foreign partners on the basis of bilateral agreements.

The infrastructure of the Faculty is also being developed by building new laboratories, by implementing modern didactic devices and information technologies. The Faculty owns a dental-hygiene laboratory in which working with dental-hygienic instruments can be practiced on models simulating natural anatomical positions; a pregnancy simulator on which maternal sounds can be heard and external obstetrical grips can be demonstrated, full-body resuscitation model with PC accessories and up-to-date laboratories for physiotherapy diagnostics and providing physiotherapeutic procedures.

The faculty provides full-time and part-time higher education in accredited degree programs at the:

He has the right to award PhDr. in the study program Nursing and Physiotherapy
