Pursuant to Act No. 422/2015 Coll. on the recognition of documents on education and on the recognition of professional qualifications and on the amendment and supplementation of certain acts, as amended the university is entitled to decide upon the recognition of education documents  issued by foreign higher education institutions if they provide study programmes in the same or related fields of study for the purposes of

• continued studies
• issue of the European Union Blue Card
• performing an occupation not regulated in the Slovak Republic
• authorization to use academic title and its abbreviation as awarded in accordance with the national legislation of the country in which the document was issued

The application for recognition of the education document may be submitted in person or by post to the address:

The application shall be accompanied in particular by following documents:

• a copy of the identity document,
• certified copies of documents on completed education,
• a transcript of subjects and examinations passed,
• a certified copy of the diploma supplement, if issued by the recognised higher education institution,
• a copy of documents on previous education completed prior to the education which is the subject of the application,
• an authentication of the signatures and stamp of the school on the document of the completed education by the competent authority of the EU member state or the third country in question (apostille,  superlegalisation), unless an international agreement states otherwise,
• proof of payment of the administrative fee in the amount of 5 € (in cases where the SR has signed an international agreement on mutual recognition of education documents) – Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Russian federation, China; 30 € (in cases where the SR has not signed an international agreement on mutual recognition of documents on education) via the electronic payment system E-KOLOK,
•  proof of payment of the administrative fee.

The applicant is obliged to submit a certified translation of the documents into the official language.

The amount of the fees (for the issuance of the decision, passing additional examinations, the completion and defence of the final thesis) is set in Table of Tuition and Fees valid in the current academic year (published in the Education/Internal regulations section).

The decision on the recognition/refusal of the education document may be collected in person or sent to the applicant by post as a personal delivery service. Receipt of the document by another person is possible only with the authorization of a certified deed of trust.

Note, please, that according to § 39, the recognition of the level of education is within the competence of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic.
