The department coordinates activities related to the creation of a concept for the development of international relations, creates conditions for the expansion of the educational and research space for incoming and outgoing students, teachers and non-pedagogical staff. In cooperation with the faculties, it coordinates the preparation of the offer of study subjects in a foreign language, creates space for admission of foreign students, coordinates activities related to obtaining financially advantageous foreign grants, obtains and regularly disseminates information about the offered opportunities for foreign activities within the framework of international projects and national scholarship programmes focused on teaching and study mobilities of teachers and students. It also coordinates activities related to the teaching of university-wide study modules and programmes in foreign languages. The department creates the conditions for the university membership and active participation in international university associations, acquires other partners for foreign cooperation, regularly updates information on the offer of cross-border cooperation for internal and external academic environments on the university website. It provides consultations when concluding effective bilateral agreements for international cooperation at the faculty and university level, cooperates in defining the content and implementation plan of bilateral agreements, participates in evaluating their productivity and specific impact, organizationally ensures the sending and receiving of teachers, students and non-pedagogical staff within existing exchange programmes (Erasmus+ and others). The department is also responsible for the content and formal adequacy of administrative documents related to student mobility, teachers and non-pedagogical staff mobility and ensures strict compliance with the obligations arising from the Erasmus University Chart and ECTS.
