The department comprehensively ensures activities related to the economy and financing. In the plan area, budget, project economics and state treasury, it prepares the budget proposal for individual university workplaces and documents for decision-making in the area of ​​budget and financing. It coordinates, directs and controls the budgeting process at the university. The department also prepares the proposal of annual report on the university economy, processes data, information and reviews about economy for the university management, ministries and other institutions. The department provides non-cash and cash payment transactions, liquidation of invoices and travel orders. In the area of ​​accounting, it ensures the management of double-entry bookkeeping for the university as a whole in accordance with applicable regulations. It manages the circulation of accounting documents and their processing. As part of the information system, it provides data for statistical reporting, analyses and other financial outputs. The department keeps evidence of the state and movements of long-term tangible and intangible assets of the university. In the payroll area, it ensures the liquidation of salaries, other personal expenses and monetary matters of university employees. The department ensures the agenda of agreements on work performed outside the employment relationship, the agenda in connection with income tax from dependent activities and the agenda of health, social and supplementary pension insurance for university employees. It also maintains the salary inventory of employees, assesses the extent of creditable work experience, prepares salary determinations for employees, performs analysis and reports salary statistics for the university as a whole.
