Editorial - Acta PATRISTICA, volume 14, issue 28/2023

Dear colleagues.

We would like to present you the next issue of our journal. In the individual studies the authors present their findings in the fields of history, theology, psychology, social work, pedagogy and spirituality. The first study deals with the ideas of Tertullian based on his view of the body and soul. This is a question that in his time was beginning to be pushed to the forefront in Christian circles who were seeking answers at a time of increasing pressure from Roman society on Christianity. The second article describes the concept of Christianity's (or Byzantine) view of holy war through the ideas of Leo and Theodosius, who were active at the time of the liberation of Crete. The author of another article discusses the dangers of pentecostal movements and their impact on the spiritual life of man. The fourth article presents the critique of total rationalism formulated by Kireyevsky as the main cause of the present anthropological and social crisis. In spite of his work in the 19th century, his view is not distant from our times. The author of the next study reflects on the current state of society, especially its leaders. He reflects on the use of language and the presentation of sin. The article presents a survey among university students and primary school pupils as to whether they consider smoking a sin. The sixth study addresses the social issue of the impact of the social isolation caused by the covid-19 crisis on different groups of the population. The aim of the study is to retrospectively identify the impact of this social isolation that occurred during the pandemic period. The last article introduces the concept of the author's perspective on the philosophy of human history, which is an anthropological expression of the nature of man as well as his fall into sin. He then presents Isus Christ, whom he sees as the way, the truth and the life in anthropological-eschatological terms.

We believe that the studies in this issue will enrich your intellectual perspectives with new knowledge and use in your creative scientific and academic work.
