Editorial - Acta PATRISTICA, volume 13, issue 27/2022
Dear colleagues.
In the new issue of the scientific journal Acta Patristica, we present articles by scientific and academic experts as well as practitioners on several interesting topics. The first study is devoted to the issue of the internal theological-liturgical analysis of the depiction of the feast of Pokrov in Byzantine iconography. The feast is particularly popular in the environment of Slavic countries. The second article is devoted to the question of the relationship of cosmism and Christian ethics to the biopolitics of immortality, which as a theme resonated not only in the 20th century. The third paper analyses the theological, liturgical and ecclesiastical-legal level of epithymia in the life of the Christian. The following study penetrates into the field of social assistance and support for the elderly, where the author presents interesting statistics on this assistance. The following article is partly thematically related, as the author, who has long been involved in analyzing the activities of philanthropic organizations in the world, describes an international philanthropic organization with its latest projects. At the same time, she provides interesting statistics on the financial, personnel and material aid expended. The next article returns us again to the area of ecclesiastical law, as the author characterizes one of the problematic ecclesiastical rules and with the necessary interpretation of the correct understanding in a historical and liturgical context. The penultimate article is also an interesting study, in which the author describes the philosophy of experiencing human grief and sorrow, which are quite palpable today in the current political and social events. The last study is an excursus into biblical, theological and patristic understandings of health and illness or death. The author thus follows his predecessor on a theological level and adds to it the necessary information from a different perspective on the subject.
We trust that the present studies will bring you new insights and enrich your knowledge on the respective topics.
