APPLICATION OF E-LEARNING IN TEACHING OF ECONOMIC DISCIPLINES

On March 15, 2016, the members of the department recalled the importance of e-learning in the educational process. In 2015, the Department of the Economics and Economy successfully completed the project financed by the Cultural and Educational Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic (KEGA) entitled “Applying E-Learning to Teaching Economic Disciplines of the Management Study Programme and New Accredited Study Programmes at the Faculty of Management of University of Prešov in Prešov” (KEGA 032PU-4/2013). The three-year project resulted in specific cooperation between five departments of the Faculty of Management and helped to create creative and beneficial atmosphere within the implemented grant tasks. During the project implementation there were published 1 textbook (ACB), 3 non-conferential scientific proceedings (FAI), 1 scientific contribution in domestic Current Contents journal (ADD), 10 scientific contributions in foreign journals registered in databases of Web of Science or SCOPUS (ADM), 21 published contributions at foreign scientific conferences (AFC), 20 scientific papers in domestic peer-reviewed scientific proceedings, monographs (AED), 13 published contributions from domestic scientific conferences (AFD), 6 scientific papers in other domestic journals (ADF) and 2 scientific papers in other foreign journals (ADE). Especially valuable for the project are the outputs published in the Current Contents journal and indexed scientific journals

(WOS and SCOPUS) at home and abroad, publication of the textbook (title: Basic Principles of Economics for Managers; consisting of selected issues of five profiling areas - microeconomics, macroeconomics, business economics, national economy, world economy and international trade), publication of peer-reviewed conference proceedings from the International Scientific Correspondence Conference EAEP 2015 and especially publication of twelve e-learning courses on selected economic issues, which are freely available via the internet, both for professionals and the general public.
