Publication guidelines for authors

Theologos – Theological Revue, is an academic, peer-reviewed journal of the Greek Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Presov in Presov (hereafter the ‘Publisher’). Two issues are published each year, one in April (with November 30 submission deadline) and one in October (with May 31 submission deadline). Only unpublished scientific articles written in Slovak, English, Polish and Italian languages will be considered for publishing. All articles must have an English abstract (10-15 lines) and 5-10 keywords in English. If English is not the language of the article, the article must have an abstract and keywords also in the language of the article (i.e. Italian, or Polish, or Slovak).

The manuscript of an article to be published should have between 18,000 and 54,000 characters including footnotes, bibliography, and spaces; book reviews should not be larger than 3 regular pages (5,400 characters including spaces). Both, articles and book reviews, should only be sent as one of the following document formats: .rtf, .doc, .docx

All contributions should be sent to the following email address: theologos.article@unipo.sk

Formal side of the contribution

Authors are expected to use the Journal Template as they prepare their manuscript.

Manuscripts should be in the Times New Roman font type, size 12 for main text and 10 for footnotes, linespacing 1.5, and A4 paper size with margins of 2.5 cm, footnote margin 1.25cm. Paragraphs should be justified on both sides.

Authors are to use footnotes for citation of sources. The citation style must comply with STN ISO 690 and other international standards.

Manuscripts of articles are expected to have the following structure:

  • Title of the article, center alignment, font size 12, bold
  • Full names of author(s) without titles, center alignment
  • Name and address of their university or research institution and email address
  • Abstract, 10-15 lines
  • Keywords, 5 to 10, separated by period
  • The main text of the article; each paragraph indented 0.7 cm from the left
  • List of used bibliographic references, alphabetically ordered (first author), hanging indent 0.7 cm. The style of references must comply with ISO 690 norm.

Following a successful review process, the Publisher will agree to publish the author(s)’ manuscript in compliance with Law No. 618/2003 about authorship rights and copyrights. The author(s) renounce(s) any rights for honorarium. The act of submitting of manuscript, however, does not constitute a legal right for the author to have their manuscript published.

The author(s) is responsible for the linguistic-grammatic quality of the manuscript. While the editor(s) and reviewers check for potential plagiarism issues and offensive, incorrect or biased statements, the author(s) is responsible for the content of the manuscript and its published version does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Journal’s editorial board or Publisher.
