The Department of Educology of Sports is a workplace in the structure of the Faculty of Sports, University of Presov. Its predecessor, Department of Sport Educology, was integrated into the Faculty of Sports since its establishment in 2004. Pedagogical staff in the department contribute with their professional capacity to education of future physical education teachers, coaches and other experts in sports. Pedagogical activities in the department are focused on specific problems of didactics of sports and sport games. The department provides the professional methodological preparation of students, implementation of the integrated practical skills in the educational process of physical education and sports at all levels into the forming spectrum of professional competencies of its future graduates.

International cooperation:

The international cooperation of the department members is implemented on the basis of inter-institutional agreements signed by the Faculty of Sports, University of Presov. Within the EU, the faculty has signed cooperation with partner institutions in Portugal (Polytechnic Institute of Porto, ESE (School of Education), University of Porto, Faculty of Sports, Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, ESECS (School of Education and Social Sciences)); Croatia (University of Zagreb, Faculty of Kinesiology, University of Split, Faculty of Kinesiology); Slovenia (Science and Research Center, Koper); Romania (Transylvania University in Brasov); Poland (University of Rzeszów, Institute of Physical Culture Sciences, University of Physical Education in Warsaw, University of Physical Education in Krakow, Faculty of Physical Culture and Health Promotion in Szczecin, State Higher Vocational School in Nysa, State University of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sacz, Institute of Physical Culture, University of Physical Education and Sports in Gdańsk) and in the Czech Republic (Charles University, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, Masaryk University in Brno, Faculty of Sports Studies, University of Olomouc, Faculty of Physical Culture, J.E. Purkyně University, Ústí nad Labem, Faculty of Education ). On the basis of these inter-institutional agreements, teachers, employees and students of the faculty can complete student and teacher mobility, internships and training. Within the faculty, the department cooperates contractually with 5 foreign partners.
