Department of Sport Kinanthropology

As far as the field of science is concerned, sports kinanthropology studies the fundamental, specific structural and developmental issues of sports motor skills, dealing with the structure, assessment, and development of motor preconditions and manifestation of human motor skills depending on the biological, psychological, and social factors. The field of sports kinanthropology consists of individual disciplines from the fields of biology, motor skills, sociology, and technology, including the knowledge about movement at a variety of differential levels. From the viewpoint of observability, sports kinanthropology views sports movement at different levels. The highest level referred to as macroscopic level includes the knowledge from the field of anthropomotorics and biomechanics. Anthropomotorics addresses the levels of internal human motor preconditions (motor abilities and skills), and biomechanics deals with the external manifestations of movement (temporal and spatial changes in movement). Internal principles of human movement are included in physiology and biochemistry. These fields of science form a sports pragmatic and technological basis for sports, followed by sports educology and sports humanistics.
