Publishing Ethics
Dodržiavanie štandardov etického správania sa očakáva od všetkých zúčastnených strán: redakcie, redakčnej rady, editorov, recenzentov a autorov (v zmysle odporúčaní Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors vydaných Výborom pre publikačnú etiku – Comittee on Publication Ethics).
Povinnosti autorov
Autor je povinný publikovať príspevok originálneho charakteru, ktorý dodržuje všetky etické požiadavky vedeckého výskumu. Je zodpovedný za správnosť a presnosť údajov a uvedenie všetkých odkazov na iné práce, ktoré použil v texte. Uvedenie nesprávnych a nepresných informácií sa považuje za neetické a neakceptovateľné. Autor ručí za to, že rukopis doposiaľ nebol nikde publikovaný ani nie je v recenznom konaní iného časopisu. Plagiátorstvo je v hrubom rozpore s publikačnou etikou. Autor musí jasne uviesť akýkoľvek potenciálny konflikt záujmov. Zároveň zaručuje, že jeho príspevkom nie sú dotknuté práva iných osôb. Autor je povinný uviesť svoju profesionálnu príslušnosť (pracovisko, adresa, e-mailový kontakt) a prípadný zdroj finančnej podpory výskumu, z riešenia ktorého príspevok vznikol. Autor je zodpovedný za korektné uvedenie všetkých spoluautorov príspevku, ako aj za komunikáciu so spoluautormi práce pri úprave a schvaľovaní finálnej verzie ich textu. Ak má príspevok viacerých autorov, dohodnú sa medzi sebou na poradí, v akom sa uvedú ich mená. Ako spoluautor nesmie byť uvedená osoba, ktorá sa významným spôsobom nepodieľala na príprave a vypracovaní príspevku. Zaslaním finálnej verzie rukopisu redakcii autor poskytuje časopisu O dieťati, jazyku, literatúre právo na publikovanie príspevku v tlačenej aj elektronickej forme, a to vrátane online verzie, ktorá je voľne dostupná.
Povinnosti redakcie, redakčnej rady, editorov a recenzentov
Redakcia časopisu a recenzenti sú povinní objektívne posudzovať rukopisy na základe ich akademického významu a hodnoty, pričom svoje názory a kritiku vierohodne podložia. Nesmú použiť nepublikovaný rukopis alebo informácie z neho pre svoj vlastný výskum, pokiaľ sa od autora zaslaného rukopisu nezíska písomný súhlas. Redaktori, editor a recenzenti ručia za to, že všetky informácie týkajúce sa rukopisu a jeho recenznej procedúry budú anonymne zachované. Zároveň musia uviesť akýkoľvek potenciálny konflikt záujmov. Redakcia je povinná rešpektovať rozhodnutie autora, ktorý sa rozhodne vziať späť rukopis, ak sa nestotožnil so stanoviskom recenzentov. Redakcia sa pri rozhodovaní o publikovaní štúdie riadi nezávislými posudkami dvoch recenzentov, pričom sa zabezpečuje vzájomná anonymita autora a recenzenta i oboch recenzentov navzájom. Recenzent je povinný upozorniť redakciu časopisu v prípade akejkoľvek podobnosti medzi predkladaným rukopisom a iným predtým publikovaným dokumentom. Redakcia má právo stiahnuť príspevok v elektronickej verzii časopisu v prípade spätného odhalenia závažného porušenia publikačnej etiky.
Publishing Ethics
All participating parties: i.e. the members of the editorial office and the editorial board, reviewers and authors (in accordance with the Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors recommendations published by The Committee on Publication Ethics) are expected to uphold standards of ethical behaviour.
For authors
Authors are required to publish original works which uphold all ethical standards of academic research. Authors are accountable for all aspects of the work, such as correct and accurate information and data, including all references used. Producing a work with incorrect and inaccurate information and data is considered unethical and unacceptable. Authors give an assurance that the manuscript has not been published before or that it has been simultaneously submitted for a review in another journal. Plagiarism belies publishing ethics. Authors are required to clearly declare any potential conflicts of interests. At the same time, authors give an assurance that by submitting a manuscript, rights of any third parties are not affected. Authors are required to list their professional affiliation (university/research institution, address, email) and, if applicable, a funding declaration with the help of which the manuscript has been produced. Authors are required to correctly list all co-authors of the submitted work and are responsible for corresponding with them in the course of editing and approving of the final version of the manuscript. If a submission has more authors, it is the authors’ sole responsibility to determine in which order their names will appear. A co-author cannot be a person who has not made a substantive contribution to producing the manuscript. By submitting the final version of the manuscript to the editorial office, authors give permission to the journal On Child, Language and Literature to publish the work in printed and online version, including an open access online version.
For editorial office, editorial board, editors and reviewers
The editorial office of the journal and reviewers are required to assess the submitted manuscripts objectively with due consideration of their academic significance and value with an informed and well supported criticism. They must not use an unpublished manuscript or parts of it for their own research without prior written consent from the author of the submitted manuscript. The members of the editorial office, editor and reviewers give an assurance that any information pertaining to the submitted manuscripts and their review process shall be anonymous. The editorial office is required to respect authors who decide to retract their manuscript if they do not agree with reviewers’ opinions. At the same time, they must declare any potential conflict of interests. The editorial decision is made on the basis of two blinded peer reviews. The editorial office makes sure that the identity between each of the two reviewers and the identity between reviewers and authors is mutually hidden. The reviewer must notify the editorial office in case any similarity between the manuscript under review and another already published work has been found. The editorial office reserves the right to retract the journal’s online version of a published work in case a serious infringement of publishing ethics is identified during retrospective review of published works.
