Department of Natural Sciences and Technological Disciplines

Department of Natural Sciences and Technical Disciplines scientific and research orientation include:

  • theoretical and practical contexts of the biology of child,
  • technology of education and didactics of information and communications technology,
  • theory and didactics of Science education,
  • theory and didactics of Technical education and learners interests,
  • multicultural education and critical thinking,
  • environmental education, health education and drug prevention,
  • specifics of teaching Roma pupils in Science and Technical education,
  • implementation of innovative strategies, forms and methods in Science and Technical education.

The courses offered by the Department of Natural Sciences and Technical Disciplines, within the programmes of study at the Faculty of Education, focus on:

  • theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for performing the duties of the teaching profession,
  • educational and psychological competences which reflect the requirements of the given stage of education,
  • personal and social prerequisites for performing the duties of the teaching profession,
  • structure of the competences in the scope of natural sciences and technical education.
