University of Prešov Representatives Attend EU Careers Student Ambassadors Conference in Luxembourg

From 2 to 4 October 2026, Ema Laučeková and Mgr. Zuzana Bednáriková attended the EU Careers Student Ambassadors Conference in Luxembourg. The event focused on European institutions, career opportunities within the European Union, and the role of student ambassadors in raising awareness of these opportunities among university students.

The EU Careers Student Ambassadors programme is coordinated by the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO). Through a network of student ambassadors, the programme provides university students with information about traineeships and career opportunities within the EU institutions.

During the three-day conference, participants took part in lectures, discussions, workshops and interactive activities focusing on European institutions, communication and career opportunities. The programme also provided an opportunity to meet participants from different European countries and exchange experiences.

The programme included a visit to the European Parliament as well as a role-play activity simulating political decision-making. Working in groups, participants took on the roles of politicians, discussed various scenarios and worked together to identify possible solutions. The activity focused on developing skills in argumentation, discussion, cooperation and compromise.

Participation in the conference offered an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the functioning of European institutions and the career opportunities available within the European Union. It also provided a platform for networking with student ambassadors and other participants from across Europe.

The knowledge and experience gained during the conference can contribute to raising awareness among students of the University of Prešov about traineeships, employment opportunities and career development within the EU institutions.
