The University of Prešov invites students to take advantage of a unique opportunity to participate in international thematic schools organised within the Q-Helix alliance. These interdisciplinary programmes combine education, practice, and international collaboration.

The topics of the individual schools are diverse and reflect current societal challenges, so do not be discouraged by their titles. Given the short application period, we strongly recommend applying as soon as possible. Selected participants will receive full financial support provided by the leader of the Q-Helix alliance – WSB University in Poland.

Future Health Professionals – Medicine, AI and Society

This thematic school focuses on innovative approaches in healthcare and offers interdisciplinary education in areas such as:

• the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine,
• ethical and legal aspects of AI, including neurolaw,
• interdisciplinary collaboration in healthcare,
• development of communication and teamwork skills,
• preparation of future healthcare professionals.

• cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR),

The programme includes lectures, workshops, simulations, case studies, as well as networking and intercultural activities.

Smart City Development: Digital Innovation, Sustainable Urban Planning and Citizen-Centred Governance

This thematic school focuses on modern urban development and sustainable urbanism, with emphasis on:

• smart cities and urban innovation,
• digital governance and smart governance,
• citizen engagement and co-creation,
• sustainable mobility and transport,
• environmental management and urban resilience,
• data-driven urban planning.

Main Topics

• smart infrastructure and public services,
• sustainable urban development,
• solutions to urban challenges in the Western Balkans region,
• practical design of smart city solutions.

Students will work in international teams on designing solutions to real urban challenges and will participate in workshops, field visits, and meetings with stakeholders.

Target Group

The programme is suitable for students of: management, economics, public administration, sustainability, IT, informatics, AI, geography, political science, law, European studies, and related disciplines.

Financial Support

Selected participants will receive full financial support covering:

• travel costs (Travel Grant),
• accommodation and subsistence (Accommodation and Subsistence Grant).
