Annales Scientia Politica bol založený v roku 2012. Od tohto roku je vydávaný ako recenzovaný vedecký časopis oficiálne registrovaný v Národnom registri ISSN Univerzitnej knižnice v Bratislave (ISSN 1339-0732). Od roku 2016 je zaradený do projektu dlhodobej ochrany digitálneho kultúrneho dedičstva, realizovaného Univerzitnou knižnicou v Bratislave.

Cieľom Annales Scientia Politica je publikovať výsledky teoretického a empirického výskumu v oblasti politológie, politickej filozofie, medzinárodných vzťahov, výskumu hraníc a príbuzných odborov s výrazným prínosom a vplyvom na rozvoj týchto disciplín, a pokiaľ možno s praktickou relevanciou. Je pritom žiaduce používať všetk metódy, vrátane budovania teórie induktívnym alebo kvalitatívnym výskumom, prvotného empirického testovania teórie, metaanalýzy s teoretickými implikáciami, konštruktívnej replikácie, ktorá objasňuje hranice alebo rozsah teórie pre teoretický výskum, ako aj kvalitatívny, kvantitatívny, terénny, laboratórny, metaanalytický a empirický výskum. Táto prioritizácia komplexných štúdií obsahujúcich metodologicky podložený teoretický a empirický výskum s implikáciami a odporúčaniami pre tvorbu politiky nevylučuje texty úplne zamerané na teóriu alebo metodológiu.

Je veľmi dôležité, aby príspevky predložené na uverejnenie v Annales Scientia Politica významne prispievali k teoretickému a empirickému výskumu, ako aj k metodológii a politike. Príspevky by mali jasne a konkrétne komunikovať rozsah a povahu svojho prínosu k aktuálnemu výskumu. Redakcia vysoko oceňuje príspevky, ktoré upozorňujú na významné aktuálne témy medzinárodného významu. Vítaný je tiež interdisciplinárny prístup.

Od roku 2015 je časopis zaradený v databázach: EBSCO Publishing database, ERIH PLUS, DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), MIAR, CEJSH (The Central European Journal Of Social Sciences And Humanities), Humanities – Sozial und Kulturgeschichte (H/Soz/Kult), ResearchBib - Academic Resource Index, CEEOL (Central and Eastern European Online Library), ROAD (Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources).

So zaslaním textov do redakcie a s recenzným konaním nie sú spojené žiadne poplatky zo strany autorov. Publikovanie textov nie je spojené so žiadnymi poplatkami súvisiacimi s ich spracovaním.

Časopis je vydávaný v elektronickej podobe a je voľne dostupný akademickej a laickej verejnosti (Open Access).

Annales Scientia Politica is a peer-reviewed scientific journal, issued semi-annually by the Institute of Political Science, Faculty of Arts, University of Prešov, focused on reflection of discourse in political sciences.

The aim of the Annales Scientia Politica is to publish results of advanced theoretical and empirical research in political science, political philosophy, international relations, border studies, and related fields with the noticeable contribution and impact to the development of those disciplines and preferably with practice relevancies. The use of all entirety of methods is desirable, including a theory building through inductive or qualitative research, first empirical testing of a theory, meta-analysis with theoretical implications, constructive replication that clarifies the boundaries or range of a theory for theoretical research as well as qualitative, quantitative, field, laboratory, meta-analytic, and empirical research. This clear priority for comprehensive papers containing a methodology-based theoretical and empirical research with implications and recommendations for policymaking does not exclude papers entirely focused on theory or methodology.

It is highly relevant that papers submitted for publication in Annales Scientia Politica make strong contribution to theoretical and empirical research as well as to methodology and policy. Submissions should clearly and as specifically as possible communicate the scope and nature of these contributions to the existing body of research. Papers that raise significant, actual topics of international relevance are highly appreciated. The interdisciplinary approach is welcomed as well.

Annales Scientia Politica has been founded in 2012. Starting in 2012, it has been published as a peer-reviewed scientific journal. officially registered with the Slovak National Register ISSN of University Library in Bratislava (ISSN 1339-0732). Since 2016 it has been included to the national project Digital Resources - Web harvesting and E-Born Content Archiving which aims to preserve the internet content as a witness of today´s "age of forgettery" on a long-term basis.

Since 2015, the Journal has been indexed in: EBSCO Publishing database, ERIH PLUS, DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), MIAR, CEJSH (The Central European Journal Of Social Sciences And Humanities), Humanities – Sozial und Kulturgeschichte (H/Soz/Kult), CEEOL (Central and Eastern European Online Library), ROAD (Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources).

There are no article submission fees. There are no article processing charges.

Journal is published as an open-access electronic journal and it is freely available to the academic and lay public.
