Recognition of documents verifying a completed secondary education

From the academic year 2025/26 there is a change in the recognition of secondary education equality.
At the latest at the time of enrolment, the student shall submit:

  1. An officially certified translation of the matriculation certificate (diploma from the 1st or 2nd level of higher education) into Slovak language by a Slovak translator and a notary public
  2. Recognition Statement of the foreign education degree (You can download the statement from the website https://uznavanie.minedu.sk/category/uznavacia-dolozka)
  3. Information from the register of documents for education of the respective country (link in point 8 in the Statement on recognition of foreign education degree - see above; specific document with the name of the applicant)
  4. The student prints and submits the certificate of the school's inclusion in the List of Recognised Educational Institutions of the country of origin whose document he/she is submitting (point 7 in the Recognition Statement of Foreign Education Degree - see above) for the relevant academic year.
  5. A declaration by the student of the authenticity of the documents submitted.

Specific information will be provided by the faculty in which the student is enrolled.
Without the above-mentioned documents, the student cannot be enrolled for studies.
