Welcome Week WT 2026/2027 at the University of Prešov 🎓

14–18 September 2026

We are delighted to welcome our international students to the University of Prešov! To help you settle in, get to know your new surroundings, and meet fellow students, we have prepared a special Welcome Week taking place from 14 to 18 September 2026.

Join us for a week full of opportunities to discover the university and the city of Prešov, explore the beautiful Slovak countryside, and enjoy some fun and informal activities with other students.

📅 Welcome Week Programme

Monday, 14 September – Welcome Meeting | 1:00 PM
📍 E 143, Rectorate Building, 17. novembra nr. 15, 080 01 Prešov

We will start the week with an official Welcome Meeting, where you will have the opportunity to meet university representatives and other international students, receive useful information, and get ready for your time at the University of Prešov.

Tuesday, 15 September – Prešov City Tour | 3:00 PM
📍 Meeting in front of the dormitory at 2:45 PM, 17. novembra nr. 11, 080 01 Prešov

Discover your new home! Join us for a guided tour of Prešov and explore some of the city's most interesting places and landmarks while getting familiar with your new surroundings.

Wednesday, 16 September – Hike in the High Tatras | 7:30 AM

Get ready for an adventure in one of Slovakia's most spectacular natural areas! We will spend the day hiking in the High Tatras and enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery together with the landmarks along the way and 2 glacial lakes. The tour for the day will take us from the parking lot under the Popradské pleso stright to the lake and from there we will continue to the Štrbské pleso where we will have some time to explore the lake there and its sorrounding area. Comfortable shoes and clothes are a MUST!

Thursday, 17 September – Pub Quiz | 5:00 PM
📍 Club room, 3rd floor of the dormitory

Put your knowledge to the test and meet your fellow students at our Pub Quiz! Form a team, enjoy a relaxed evening, and see who can answer the most questions correctly. The best 3 teams will earn some peices from the university merch line :D 

Friday, 18 September – Stará Ľubovňa Castle & Museum of Optical Illusions

📍 Meeting at the dormitory at 7:45 AM
🚌 Bus departure at 8:00 AM
⏰ Expected return: 6:00 PM

We will finish Welcome Week with a full-day trip to Stará Ľubovňa Castle together with the adjacent Open Air Museum and then move to the Museum of Optical Illusions in Starý Smokovec Tricklandia.
