HORIZON 2026 Summer School

The National Horizon Office at the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information (CVTI SR) organized the second edition of the Horizon Summer School. The event, attended by a representative of the University of Prešov, took place from 29 June to 2 July 2026 at the Judicial Academy in Omšenie, Slovakia. This year, the summer school was open not only to project managers from various institutions but also to researchers themselves, providing them with an opportunity to consult their research project ideas and proposals.

During the four-day programme, participants were introduced to the Horizon Europe Programme, successful project management offices from the Prague University of Economics and Business and the FunGlass Centre, as well as the SKARMA initiative, which aims to establish a Slovak association of research and innovation project managers. Particular attention was devoted to common shortcomings in project proposals and recommendations for achieving successful evaluation results. The programme also included teamwork on project concepts, which were assessed at the end of the summer school by experienced experts and project evaluators.

We believe that participation in the summer school will contribute to improving the quality of project proposals submitted under the Horizon Europe Programme and will encourage the University of Prešov to engage more actively in project calls, both as a project partner and as a coordinator of international research and innovation projects.
