EURAXESS Networking- Group Study Visit in Erlangen

The Group Study Visit is a unique opportunity for networking and sharing examples of good practice in matters concerning the mobility of foreign researchers coming to individual institutions.
From December 8th to 10th, 2025, our Euraxess centre took part in such a stay at Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen, Germany. Together with other participants from nine European countries, we presented examples from our institutions and discussed the challenges we face. The event organizers introduced us to their workplace with a demonstration of the various services and support options offered by their Welcome Centre for foreign guests. The program also included workshops where we explored individual intercultural stereotypes that are a common part of our practice, and through various activities, we learned to understand our differences with the aim of improving our services for foreigners. One such activity was a guided tour of Nuremberg, during which we discovered the history associated with this German city. Throughout the event, we had the opportunity to establish new international partnerships and jointly expand the Euraxess network.
This visit was financially supported by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic.
