ESN Prešov
Erasmus Student Network Prešov (ESN Prešov) is part of ESN Slovakia, a non-profit student organization that supports international mobility and cultural exchange. Our mission is to represent and assist international students studying at the University of Prešov, creating opportunities for cultural understanding, personal growth, and lasting friendships — all under the motto “Students Helping Students.”
Who We Are
ESN Prešov is one of 10 active ESN sections across Slovakia that together support nearly 2,000 Erasmus+ and exchange students every year. Our members and volunteers organize a variety of activities, including:
Cultural and social events
Language exchanges
Local and international trips
Volunteering and community projects
Through these events, we help international students feel at home in Prešov and connect them with Slovak and other international peers.
About ESN Slovakia and ESN International
Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is the largest student association in Europe, founded on 16 October 1989 and officially registered in 1990. Today, ESN operates in more than 1,000 higher education institutions across 42 countries, bringing together over 15,000 active members and around 40,000 volunteers who support approximately 300,000 international students each year.
ESN works on three levels — local, national, and international — promoting a more open, mobile, and inclusive education environment. It also supports “internationalisation at home,” helping students who do not go abroad to experience intercultural exchange on campus.
Our Aims & Principles
ESN and its local sections, including ESN Prešov, aim to:
Support the social and cultural integration of international students
Represent their needs and rights at local, national, and international levels
Provide information about mobility opportunities and motivate students to study abroad
Assist with the reintegration of students returning from exchange programs
Promote volunteering, active citizenship, and intercultural understanding
