The main mission of the center is to support the development of applied research at the University of Prešov in Prešov.

The main tasks of the center include management and coordination of applied research activities carried out at individual parts of the university, coordination of expert activities of the university's workplaces, support of innovations, information in the area of ​​the center's main mission and provision of related services for creative employees of the university, staff groups, doctoral students and students.

The center integrates sustainability activities of completed projects focused on the field of applied research, primarily projects:

a) Competence center of knowledge technologies for innovations of production systems in industry and services,

b) University science park TECHNICOM for innovative applications with the support of knowledge technologies,

c) Center for commercialization of research outputs and management of intellectual property of Prešov University
