Department of computer networks

• It ensures the operation, expansion and management of computer networks and communication systems at the central level.
• Manages and develops the university's network backbone and the university's network center.
• It manages the main regional node of the SANET academic network for the Prešov region and the metropolitan academic network in Prešov.
• It ensures the development of studies and network proposals.
• It ensures the management and development of central university servers.
• It ensures the selection and implementation of system software and new network information technologies at the central level.
• It ensures the creation of software supporting the operation of networks and servers at the central level.
• It ensures the operation of electronic mail services, information services (www, ftp, search services, etc.) for the entire university.
• It ensures the operation of communication devices (modems, routers, terminal servers) at the central level.
• He is responsible for the security issues of the operation of computer networks at the central level and archiving.
• It ensures the implementation and support of the operation of office and communication systems and anti-virus protection at the university rectory and other parts of the university, with which the center completely ensures the administration of computing technology.
• It ensures the installation, innovations, maintenance and repairs of computer technology according to the established principles for the center and, according to the capacity options, for other parts of the university.
• It provides consulting activities in the field of computer hardware for all parts of the university, develops technical specifications for the needs of computer technology purchases at the central level.
• It provides maintenance, diagnostics and repairs of the communication infrastructure for the central workplaces and other workplaces of the university, for which the center provides complete management of computing technology. In case of free capacities, it can also provide these services for other parts of the university.
