A Week in Japan for Free? Apply for the MIRAI 2026 Program

University students have a unique opportunity to visit Japan, explore its culture and economy, and build connections with peers and professionals from around the world. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has announced a call for applications for the prestigious short-term MIRAI – 未来 (Future) Program.

The program is designed for university students aged 20 and above who are interested in broadening their international horizons and gaining first-hand experience in Japan. Participants will spend approximately one week in the Land of the Rising Sun, where they will have the opportunity to meet Japanese experts, researchers, and students from different countries across the globe.

The aim of the program is to promote mutual understanding, intercultural dialogue, and networking among future leaders of Japan and its partner countries.
