Fulbright Grant for University Teachers, Researchers, Professionals, and Artists

The Fulbright Program offers a 3- to 6-month grant that enables participants to conduct research or teach at any accredited university or research institution in the United States. Applications are accepted from all academic disciplines except clinical medicine.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be citizens of the Slovak Republic;
• Hold a PhD degree or demonstrate significant professional experience in their field;
• Present a clearly defined project to be pursued in the United States (research or teaching).

Research Grants for PhD Students

Encourage your PhD students to take advantage of this unique opportunity and apply for a research stay in the United States through the Fulbright Slovak Student Program 2027/2028.

The program supports doctoral students from all academic disciplines, with the exception of clinical medicine, for research stays lasting 6 to 9 months. Research may be conducted at any accredited university in the United States.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be citizens of the Slovak Republic;
• Have completed a second-cycle (Master’s level) university degree;
• Demonstrate strong motivation and commitment.

Selection Criteria

Preference is given to applicants who:

• Have not previously gained extensive experience in the United States;
• Demonstrate adaptability and strong personal qualities;
• Intend to return to Slovakia and contribute to the development of their field using the knowledge and skills acquired during their stay.
